Porcelain figurine sets

The tradition of collecting Meissen porcelain figurines dates back to the early years of the manufactory in the 18th century. With the invention of the first European porcelain, Meissen’s master modellers were presented with entirely new sculpting possibilities.

Although further developed and perfected over the centuries, the basic principles of production have remained the same to this day: expressiveness, detailed sculpting and hand-painted artwork in vibrant colours. Whether the Monkey Band of the Rococo period, figurines made of Böttger stoneware, the Hentschel Children at Art Nouveau or contemporary groups of figurines by Peter Strang or the sculptor Maximilian Hagstotz: in every era, MEISSEN has produced iconic figurines that have captivated collectors the world over.
